Do Vehicle Immobilizers have GPS tracking?
I have a Immobilizer on my car. If it’s ever stolen can the police track it from the immobilizer or would I need something else for tracking?
Immobilisers just make the vehicle Immobile. The only way to be able to track cars is to have a tracking system Fitted, which is pretty expensive. These are usually fitted to the most expensive cars.. Agai, even if the car is immobilised, it doesn.t mean that it will not be broken into.

The accelerometer and the GPS sensors are used independently for the measurement update portion of the Kalman filter. For both sensors, a vector arithmetic approach is used to determine the attitude error vector. Following each measurement update, a multiplicative reset operation moves the attitude error information from the filter state into the attitude estimate. This reset operation utilizes quaternion algebra to implicitly maintain the unity-norm constraint. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our attitude estimation algorithm through flight simulations and flight tests of aggressive maneuvers such as loops and small-radius circles. We implement an approach to acrobatic maneuvering for miniature air vehicles (MAVs) using time-parameterized attitude trajectory generation and an associated attitude tracking control law. We designed two methodologies, polynomial and trigonometric, for creating functions that specify pitch and roll angles as a function of time. For both approaches, the functions are constrained by the maneuver boundary conditions of aircraft position and velocity. A solution based on the integration of ‘conventional’ GPS/INS and Machine Vision sensor is proposed with the purpose of measuring the relative distance between a refueling tanker and UAV. In this effort, comparisons between Point Matching (PM) algorithms and Pose Estimation (PE) algorithms have been developed in order to improve the performance of the Machine Vision sensor. A method of integration based on Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) between GPS/INS and Machine Vision system is also developed with the goal of reducing the tracking error in the ‘pre-contact’ to contact and refueling phases.;In the second section of the thesis the issue of Collision Identification (CI) is addressed. A proposed solution consists on the use of Optical Flow (OF) algorithms for the detection of possible collisions in the range of vision of a single camera. The effort includes a study of the performance of different Optical Flow algorithms in different scenarios as well as a method to compute the ideal optical flow with the aim of evaluating the algorithms. An analysis on the suitability for a future real time implementation is also performed for all the analyzed algorithms.;Results of the tests show that the Machine Vision technology can be used to improve the performance in the Aerial Refueling problem. In the Collision Identification problem, the Machine Vision has to be integrated with standard sensors in order to be used inside the Flight Control System. |
